Yesterday, 11th September 2025, we had the pleasure of attending the Rail Infrastructure Networking (RIN) event at the Derby Velodrome, hosted by Keven Parker ACII CIRM NEBOSH Founder – Jobson James Rail – The Rail Broker.
As always, the atmosphere was buzzing with energy, bringing together rail professionals from across the industry. For us, the day was about more than just networking, it was about reconnecting with old friends, making new ones, and sharing ideas that keep the rail sector moving forward.
Events like RIN remind us that relationships are at the heart of rail infrastructure: trusted partnerships built over years, and fresh conversations that spark new opportunities. We know it has been a challenging time for the industry, and one attendee aptly described the event as a “counselling session”, a chance for everyone to come together, share experiences, maintain a positive outlook, and support each other through a period of change. Encouragingly, we are seeing companies embrace collaboration more than ever, sharing resources, knowledge, and ideas to strengthen the whole rail sector.
We had excellent conversations with teams from ADComms, AmcoGiffen, Aureos, BakerHicks, BAM UK & Ireland, Costain Group PLC, Murphy Group, Jobson James Rail – The Rail Insurance Broker, Murphy Geospatial, a Woolpert Company, Network Rail, railbusinessdaily.com, Rail Forum, Rail Industry Association, Rail Industry Connect, Rail Safe Friendly, Samaritans, Scott Parnell Ltd, Serco, Severfield Infrastructure, SPL POWERLINES UK&I, Story Contracting Limited, Unipart Rail, and Vallum Projects. It was inspiring to hear about the projects you’re delivering, the challenges you’re tackling, and the opportunities ahead. A special thanks also goes to The The Mental Wealth Company Ltd., whose focus on wellbeing is a timely reminder of the human side of rail.
We left the event energised, with new conversations to continue and existing partnerships to strengthen. Once again, RIN Events proved its value as a space for open discussion, collaboration, and genuine connection.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with us, we look forward to following up and continuing the dialogue over the months ahead.
